If you’re in Taipei, grab tickets now!
I don’t know how I got so lucky. It’s a huge honor to open for such amazing Asian American comedians. A few friends complained that I didn’t give them enough warning when I opened for Atsuko Okatsuka in mid-March. In my defense, she slipped into my DM a week before the show, and her tickets had been sold out months in advance. I expect Jenny Yang’s show will sell out quickly, too.
Yang’s one of Variety's Top Ten Comics to Watch and Vulture’s Comedians You Should Know. She has been featured at Just For Laughs Montreal, headlined at San Francisco Sketchfest, and has opened for iconic comedians Maria Bamford and Margaret Cho. You might have also seen her in Netflex’s action comedy The Brothers Sun, fighting alongside Michelle Yeoh as the deadpan assassin XING.
One of my favorite Taipei-based comedians Jamie Wang is also opening! It’ll be a riot. An all-female show has a distinct energy that you’ve just got to experience for yourself.
On a more personal note, my 16-month-long visa application journey is nearing the end. I am thiiiiiiiiis close to officially becoming an “alien of extraordinary ability” in the U.S., which will allow me to officially move to New York and pursue writing and comedy. And be reunited with my cats.
If you got tickets, please come say hi after the show!
